Cyril Mansions, Battersea Park – Renovation that blend charm of Victorian architecture with the sophistication and fun of contemporary design

Every renovation should harmonize with the spirit of the original architecture while introducing modern functionality and aesthetics. Our project at Cyril Mansions, fronting Battersea Park, is a perfect example of this philosophy. Completed in 2019, this 62 m² one-bedroom flat renovation aimed to enhance flow and light while maintaining the character of the prestigious mansion block.

The client desired a space that felt like a traditional mansion flat but with contemporary, playful finishes—calm with minimal splashes of color and geometric patterns. Given the structure of the mansion block, we preserved the series of rooms rather than opting for an open-plan layout. However, we created larger openings where possible and strategically relocated the bathroom and dining area to allow for borrowed light and better-connected views.

The result is a beautifully balanced space that marries the charm of Victorian architecture with the sophistication and fun of contemporary design, creating a timeless yet modern home.
